Drug-Resistant Staphylococcus Infections
Doctors are finding a very alarming trend that has been going on for quite sometime, injuries to the skin that get infected are now found to be healing not only longer but worse, are becoming host to once rare forms of staph infections. Called MSRA, these forms of infections used to be common in athletes or with the condition known as athlete’s foot, with bacteria commonly found in the infected skin and within in-grown toe nails. Today however, they are being found more and more commonly in regular scrapes and wounds that used to be easy to treat with common antibiotics so people with wounds that take longer to heal than normal should get them checked so they are eliminated and a new regimen of antibiotics could be prescribed.
